Analysis of Factors Influencing Red Light Violations at Urban Road Junctions
Violations of breaking through a red light at a crossroads in the city of Surabaya are still happening. Therefore this research was conducted to determine the extent to which respondents understood the sanctions for violating running a red light and reducing and then classifying the factors that influence the behavior of running a red light. The factors used in this study were in the form of 11 variables, namely gender, age, last education, occupation, pocket money/income, family status, PBC (Perceived Behavioral Control), behavioral outcomes, subjective norms, control factors, and approval of violations. The theory used for this research is to spread the questions representing these variables as a questionnaire. The sample of respondents needed to conduct this research was determined from the results of the slovin test calculations. All results from respondents’ answers were processed using SPSS, and several tests were carried out, such as outlier tests, validity and reliability tests, and dimension reduction. The results of this study, when viewed from the relationship between variables (gender, age, last education, occupation, pocket money/income, and family status) with knowledge about the sanctions for running red lights, more than 50 percent of respondents already know and understand the sanctions for breaking through red lights and indicators of the 11 variables have been reduced and divided into two dimensions.
